The Friends and Family Test in GP practices
The Friends and Family Test is to be introduced into General Practice in December 2014 and guidance has just been published on this.
Why choose CFEP for Friends and Family?
We have been running pilots for the Friends and Family Test in GP practices already which have been updated to meet the latest guidelines.
We can provide you with a full survey process to meet the requirements which is tried and tested, and as simple and minimally disruptive as possible. Outsourcing the survey means that you don't have to tie up your precious administrative time processing questionnaires and producing reports - we will take care of all of this for you.
If you have used CFEP's services before you will know that we aim to provide surveys from which you gain meaningful and useful information. So as well as being confident that you are meeting the requirements, the feedback can assist you in the development of facilities and services within your practice - improving the environment for patients and staff alike.
How does it work?
Practices need to:
provide an opportunity for people who use the practice to give anonymous feedback using the Friends and Family Test.
Use the standard wording of the Friends and Family Test with at least one follow up question which allows the opportunity to provide free text comment, for more detailed feedback.
Submit data to NHS England - MONTHLY
Publish the results locally
What are the options?
The standard Friends and Family Test - this asks the mandated Friends and Family Test question and provides a comments box asking the patient to explain why they rated you the way they did.
The standard Friends and Family Test question - this asks the mandated Friends and Family Test question and provides a comments box asking the patient to explain why they rated you the way they did and also allows you the option to add further local questions of your choosing.
What will it cost?
Option 1 of the Friends and Family Test Survey is £25 VAT per month for a standard package which allows you to meet the basic requirement.
Option 2 of the Friends and Family Test Survey is £40 VAT per month package which allows you to meet the basic requirement and gather further specific feedback (restrictions on number and type of additional question will apply).
The requirement comes in to effect in December 2014 so you don't necessarily need to take any action now. But we thought we would let you know we have a service ready and available if you would like to use it when you start to plan how you will run the Friends and Family Test in your practice.
